IRD Group hired me to develop an iOS and Android mobile app for Prospector's sales product. Prospector lets customers get fresh, quality leads daily to help you sell more. IRD Group journalists discover company strategic changes daily that allow you to target the right people at the right time for the right reason. Use the built-in contact information to reach out immediately when the deal looks right. Build a custom list of companies with key details at your fingertips.
Initial Problem

The Prospector platform presented several challenges: it was built on a .NET backend hosted on Microsoft servers with no access to the database for updates or changes, relied on outdated XML and SOAP APIs that complicated integration with modern technology, and required Android and iOS compatibility at launch to deliver value to existing users. With no access to the current backend or database, we had to devise an innovative solution to meet these requirements while ensuring a seamless experience for the platform's user base.
The Solution

I implemented a cost-effective and efficient solution by leveraging Google Firebase as a backend service, enabling quick user authorization and a new database setup. To integrate the existing SOAP APIs from the Prospector platform, I developed a custom parser using Node.js to pull, parse, and transform data into modern JSON-based APIs for the mobile app. Google Flutter meets meets cross-platform requirements at a competitive cost. Additionally, we devised a script to generate temporary passwords for existing users, triggering an automatic reset upon their first mobile app login to ensure a seamless transition.

Finale Results
The final result was a high-performance mobile app developed in Google Flutter using Google Firebase as the backend for iOS and Android. The Prospector mobile app had a simple and easy-to-use UI and user experience while providing excellent features and value to Prospector customers.
