Gili W
Rebuilt a medical-sensor app in Flutter so Donisi Health could launch on iOS for the US market, and trained their team to own it.

- Mobile
- Outcome
- iOS + Android from one codebase, with no iOS hires
01
The problem
The Gili W sensor measures heart, lung and stress parameters, and Donisi’s AI suite turns them into early warnings. Expanding into the US meant shipping an iOS app, but there was only a native Android app and a Java team with no iOS or Flutter experience.
02
Constraints
Pairing with medical hardware has to just work. The app still used classic Bluetooth, which the sensors were moving away from, and sensor setup relied on QR pairing that no off-the-shelf package handled. Hiring an iOS team would have doubled the cost.
03
Decisions & trade-offs
Rebuild in Flutter rather than add a second native app, and upskill the existing team instead of hiring around them. Test the hardware layer first, because that’s where the risk was.
- Moved from classic Bluetooth to BLE, for real-time readings with better battery life
- Customized a QR scanner to give real-time positioning feedback during sensor setup
- Historical tests, spot measurements and personalized trends
- Clear heart, lung and stress visualizations, shareable with family and caregivers
04
What I did
Led the mobile team and rebuilt the app for iOS and Android. Onboarded the Android developers to Flutter and Dart through hands-on work, and set the development standards and code reviews they kept using.

“His ability to brainstorm solutions to overcome hurdles was crucial to our successful app development, enabling the project to reach all milestones on time without compromising quality.”
