01

The problem

Lineups needed a first product for property managers in the multifamily industry: analytics, landing pages and lead magnets in one place. It had to be built from nothing and grow cleanly after launch.

02

Constraints

A fixed startup budget and several third-party APIs to integrate. The team that inherited the code had to be able to keep shipping features on top of it.

03

Decisions & trade-offs

I picked Meteor for real-time speed of delivery, which suited a team that needed to move quickly. I structured the code so it would be easy to refactor after launch, rather than optimizing for the demo.

04

What I built

The whole platform: a Meteor and Node.js backend with multiple API integrations, and a responsive React frontend.

“We hired Almog to build our MVP in Meteor because of his experience with the framework. While the project took longer than expected (tell me one that doesn’t), we always followed the budget, with minimal scope reduction. The end result was a platform that was simple to refactor and easy to develop new features.”
